Line 6 PodXT Live Tone Downloads

What's the Line 6 PODXT Live?
The Line 6 PODXT Live is the best effects processor (effects pedal) on the market. It allows you to simulate tones from popular songs from any genre of music. About a year ago I had about $500 that I had saved up to buy an effects processor or an effects pedal. I came across 4 different effects processors: Line 6 PODXT Live, Boss GT-8, Digitech Tone, Misc Digitech Floorboards and the Vox ToneLab. I did research for 3 months on each, tested them out and had finally came to a conclusion. I chose the PODXT Live because I'm the type of musician that likes to simulate other artists' music. Basically, I'd rather play other people's music instead of my own and I felt that the PODXT Live would be my best bet because of the quality of the unit, the ability to sync with my computer and download new tones, the premade tones that you are able to download from the PODXT Live website, the ability to trade tones with friends, all the amp, cab and effects models, built in wah wah pedal, and ease of use. Since then, I've realized that that was the best $500 bucks that I'd ever spent. The other processors are still good products, however the Vox and the Boss won't plug into a computer, The digitech sound quality is poor and many other little things that I wasn't too happy with. I would definately recommend the PODXT Live to anyone who play guitar and has $500 ($399 Now!) bucks to spend.
What are the additional Modeling Packs that are available for the PODXT Live?
The additional modeling packs cost about $100 (last time I checked) and are available on the Line 6 PODXT Live website. When you first get the PODXT, you can download them from the Line 6 website. Its pretty cool because it actually downloads to the POD through the USB cable when you connect it to the computer. There's 3 series of packages that you get for the $100. There's a Metal related series of amp models, a classic rock series, and an effects series. All three modeling packs for the price of $100 bucks are definately worth the money. There's a great .PDF file on the website that tells you what each cab/amp model is related too and sometimes they give you examples of artists and songs that those models have been used in. If you get the PODXT Live, definately go ahead and grab the modeling packs.... You won't regret it!
