Greenday Time Of Your Life was written by Billie Joe Armstrong – he wrote it when his girlfriend moved to Ecuador. He tried to be a good sport about it but was pretty angry. To show that he was kind of pissed about her moving away he called it “Good Riddance”. The song is about how life teaches us various things… we are not supposed to question life but accept it and go with the flow.  The first time it was played was at a live performance in New Jersey for an encore. Billie Joe has to pound a few beers before he performed it because he thought the fans wouldn’t like it.

He obviously uses an acoustic guitar in this song tuned to standard e guitar tuning. He also is using medium strings when he plays. Aside from that, it’s really hard to screw up this song in terms of how your guitar sounds.

All in All this song is a great song to learn.
