5th Chord Shape
"What is a Guitar Chord Shape?" A Guitar Chord Shape is a constant fingering that you maintain. When you move this fingering up and down the fretboard you will produce different chords.
A 5th chord is chord is the easiest fingering you will ever learn. Most new age punk bands use only 5th chords. The 5th chord is composed of the root note and the 5th in the scale (hence the "5th chord"). This power chord shape is primarily used in punk but you will also find it in blues, rock and many other types of music. Palm muting 5th chords gives them a rock and roll/punk feel just like the power chord.
The 5th Chords sound like power chords but not as "full" sounding.
